Purpose[edit]
Notice: Material marked for confirmation should be cited informally on the article's talk page, in an edit comment, or in invisible comments within the article's code.
This template is used in articles to identify sentences or short passages which are dubious or disputed. It produces the following appearance:
- This sentence needs to be confirmed.[?]
Editors may also use this template to "tag" material which they see as questionable or weak, but not obviously invalid. The tag serves as a request for confirmation.
