Guilt or Gilt[edit]

Could "Guilt" instead be "Gilt", as in "(uncountable) Gold or other metal in a thin layer; gilding."?KrytenKoro (talk) 08:22, 20 May 2016 (PDT) 2016 (PDT)

That's unlikely I think since it's spelled out this way in the game: [1]. I think there are story implications behind this mechanics (the guilt symbol also appears along the other Disney and usual KH symbols in the game's background), they just haven't been explored yet. That's why I think it was a first bad translation decision to remove this word completely in the NA version, even more so since everyone seems to use it regardless. --ShardofTruth (talk) 00:20, 21 May 2016 (PDT)

"Guilt" is actually a term carried over from the original Chi into Unchained. The mechanic worked slightly different there and is reference to that. In Chi, it is generated from Heartless as opposed to fusing cards into copies of themselves and is based upon using the power of the "Sins of the Heartless" or something to that effect. [2] Depending on how much was gained from Heartless would allow a strong attack of relative strength on your first turn. It actually makes little sense to still call it this in Unchained considering how the mechanic was changed making the English translation a bit more accurate. --Seiki 01:22, 22 May 2016 (PDT)

You are absolutely right of course, still they decided to use the Power Bangle story cutscene and the "Guilt symbols" from browser [chi], so at least to me it seems there is still some meaning behind it. Many other mechanics were also changed in Unchained, so I don't think that's a point against it either. Maybe I just can't imagine that the translators have a better grap on the accurateness of certain game aspects than the original Japanese devs, that would really be a first for the series. --ShardofTruth (talk) 11:07, 22 May 2016 (PDT)

Evolution[edit]

Given that there are now several cases of non-standard evolution (Cid, Chip, Dale, Mickey & Broom Servants, Snow White, Seven Dwarfs), should we cover all the different methods on a list here, or have them as part of the infoboxes for each Medal?KrytenKoro (talk) 07:15, 25 May 2016 (PDT)

I don't know whether or not you're still thinking about this, but if there is to be an evolution section on this page, I think that it should discuss the basic premise, then list those examples. Players can then click on them to read their pages individually for details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.172.203.139 (talkcontribs)

Images[edit]

Has anyone made any progress on ripping the image assets for medals?KrytenKoro (talk) 07:15, 25 May 2016 (PDT)

Sign from KHInsider just recently released a gallery with all current 579 medal images. Anyone uploading these images here should credit her and link to the source, that's really the least that can be done.
Ripping images directly from the game is still not possible, I am at my wit's end with the stupid file format. --ShardofTruth (talk) 11:24, 27 June 2016 (PDT)

Rarity and Guilt Organization[edit]

Any chance this could be expanded to include a blurb about Metal Rarity and the links to the medium high and very high guilt metal lists? Having to navigate to the "Category" section to find anything is tiresome. Probably deserves its own section. Like what the definition between a premium metal and rare metal are. Also unclear where Event metals or even the "illustrated" ones would fit... are those not rare or premium metals? Yet not listed in the catagory so the "metal lists are incomplete"

Here's a table to start with:

Rarity Minimum Stars Expected Guilt Level
Common 1 1
Normal 3 2
Rare/Epic 5 3
Super Rare 6 4
I'll have to guess what the other terms mean. Event or Limited means for a limited time. Illustrated are always limited. Premium means paying real money is required (they are also always limited). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.91.209.73 (talkcontribs)
We have the categories being filled for the five rarities and four SAB levels. The categories give short descriptions of each; we can do that here as well.KrytenKoro (talk) 23:24, 19 June 2016 (PDT)

Since 2.0's release, Guilt is now unlocked on Mission 34 for Global. Unsure of JP. Source: http://api.sp.kingdomhearts.com/information/detail/27489 209.95.50.90 21:02, 23 April 2017 (PDT)

Buff/Debuff Tiers[edit]

Does anyone have a citation for the 25% mantra? Some say that each tier is 20%, not 25%, and some also say that same-type (de)buffs stack additively, while different (de)buffs are multiplicative, so, for instance, DiZ + Vivi = 1.4, but DiZ + Seven Dwarves = 1.44. Did anyone ever run solid confirmations?72.172.203.139 03:04, 30 August 2016 (PDT)

I'm not seeing where the article is claiming 25% anywhere, but I believe there is a damage calculation spreadsheet hosted on the subreddit.204.11.142.106 06:35, 30 August 2016 (PDT)

It's not on this article, strangely; it's just cited almost everywhere else on the Internet. Do you have a link to that subreddit? I'm not very familiar with navigating Reddit.72.172.203.139 08:31, 30 August 2016 (PDT)

Also, it would probably help if you got into reddit, as they would be very amenable to your raid boss project and able to help.204.11.142.106 10:16, 30 August 2016 (PDT)
https://www.reddit.com/r/KingdomHearts/comments/4u95rz/khux_understanding_strength_and_attribute_boosts/ also claims numbers, though I can't confirm they personally did the calculations. They're not claiming 25% though.204.11.142.106 10:20, 30 August 2016 (PDT)

This could use some updating - fellow reddit members have done some calculations to have a better idea of how damage buffs are calculated, perhaps it could be reflected on this page. https://www.reddit.com/r/KingdomHearts/comments/64luvl/khux_an_overview_of_strength_buffs_and_how_they/?st=j1cryax3&sh=008f83b6 All credit goes to the respective users in the main post, I have no affiliation towards them. 209.95.50.90 20:56, 23 April 2017 (PDT)

Traits[edit]

Hello, I think it'd be best if traits had additional detail in the table - specifically how 40% extra atk/-60% def/+1k atk are active in every scenario, including tap, swipe, and special attack. I've also taken the liberty of editing a few sentences to make them slightly easier to read, but I do think there's a few things that could be better explained. Thanks for the hard work as always~ 209.95.50.90 20:56, 23 April 2017 (PDT)

I don't think we need that extra information. All traits that affect the Medal itself (str+, enemy def-, etc.) affect all types of attacks. Prior to the 2.0.2 update, the raid +40% and extra attack traits were only in effect when using a special attack, but that has been fixed now. [3] TheSilentHero 09:55, 24 April 2017 (PDT)

There should be a note added to the list of traits reguarding the loweri g of special attack cost. Where the actual cost is as the trait states you must still have the medal's original special attack cost available in your gauge to activate the special attack. i.e. If the trait reduces the special attack cost to 2 and the medal it is attatched to originally cost 4 there must be 4+ in your special attack gauge to activate the special attack gauge. At which point only the trait's cost, in this example 2, will be deducted from your special attack gauge. This will prevent someone from activating their special attack, again for said example, even if their special attack gauge is 2 or 3. This is very important when considering where you place a medal with one of these traits and what medal(s) prior would allow you to circumvent this. Saken22 (talk) 09:30, 26 September 2017 (PDT)

I'm assuming you mean skills and not traits, but I could put up a note for that. Makes me wonder what happens if you put sp2 on a 0-cost medal and activate it with less than 2 gauges... TheSilentHero 09:57, 26 September 2017 (PDT)
