Special Quests (強化クエスト Kyōka Kuesuto, lit. "Strengthening Quest") are various quests that provide specific resources in higher quantities than those randomly found during Story Quests. In the EN version, they are unlocked after completing Quest 20.[citation needed] While the various series of Special Quests are sorted by difficulty similar to Story Quests, they can be completed in any order. The various quests appear at different times of the week as noted for each quest, and generally do not have set expiration dates; however, purchasing the Weekly Jewels Extravaganza! will allow the player to access any Special Quest regardless of day or time, as well as unlocking any current VIP Quests.
In the JP version, days are defined as starting at 00:00 JST and ending 23:59 JST. In the EN version, days are defined as starting at 00:00 PST and ending 23:59 PST. In addition, the Mythril Madness and 4★-5★ Evolve Medals quests were moved from Monday and Friday to Saturday and Sunday, and the Boost Medals quests have not yet been added. The Adamantite Ore Challenges were originally week-long series, run two at a time, but as of October 3, 2016 in the EN version, they were revised to a daily rotation. However, unlike other Special Quests, purchasing the Weekly Jewels Extravaganza! does not allow the player to access these quests on off-days.
Unlike other Special Quests, the Munny Medals quests are only open for thirty minutes, three times a day between Monday and Friday, rather than for the entire day. The hours for these quests differ for each player, but are set for each account. The first opening is at a specific time in the morning, with the second four hours later and the third eight hours after that. In addition, the thirty minute timer will not start until the player logs in, so long as they log in within two hours of the scheduled window of opportunity.
VIP Quests
VIP Quests (プレミアムクエスト Puremiamu Kuesuto, lit. "Premium Quests") are available every day, but can only be accessed if the player has purchased the Weekly Jewels Extravaganza!. They remain available until the deal expires at 23:59 on Sunday. In the EN version, some of these VIP Quests are only available between specific dates, while others are permanent additions to the quest roster.
