Battle vs. Master Aced in Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ / Union χ is the first quest in the The Keyblade War Part 1 series of Event Quests.
Story summary
The Player confronts Ralph, the man who is destroying the building. After knocking Ralph off the building, Felix appears and tells The Player that even though Ralph is a bad guy, they need him, and Felix is the one who needs to beat him.
Script
Before quest
- Chirithy: "I heard that people are designed to shove all of their sad memories deep down inside in order to protect their hearts."
- Chirithy: "If that's true..."
- Chirithy: "...was it really necessary to overwrite the memories of all these people?"
- Chirithy: "Memories shouldn't be forgotten, even the sad ones. ...Maybe that's easy to say when they don't belong to me. But while they can be hidden deep inside, the wounds and scars remain."
- Chirithy: "Forgetting doesn't mean it never happened. Your memory was overwritten with the rest of them."
- Chirithy: "Your sad memories, forgotten. But your heart still bears the scars."
- Chirithy: "If the time comes when you need to remember... ...I'll be right here by your side to help you."
- [He bestowed names on his six apprentices, and passed down the Book of Prophecies to five who came to be known as the foretellers.]
- [The five read the manuscript... ...and were shocked by the final entry.]
- ["On that fated land, a great war shall transpire." "Darkness will prevail and the light expire."]
- [A few months later—]
- [I thought the world's end would be a horrible sight.]

- [Cut to The Player and Chirithy walking into the Fountain Square, where two Keyblade wielders are arguing.]
- Chirithy: "Not again..."
- Chirithy: "Don't get involved. I know it's frustrating, but you can't fix everything."
- Chirithy: "Everyone seems to have a bone to pick. I hope things don't get any worse..."
- [The two keyblade wielders summon their Keyblades.]
- The Player: "!"
- [The Player runs up to them and blocks their Keyblades, just as they move to attack each other.]
- Chirithy: "The Player!"
- Chirithy: "Wait! We're all on the same side"
- White Overalls Keyblade Wielder: "Are we? Then why did they steal our Lux?"
- Casual Blue Keyblade Wielder: "What are you talking about? We're just trying to protect the light. I'll bet good munny that it's your Union that's fallen into darkness. Traitors!"
- White Overalls Keyblade Wielder: "What did you say!? How can you prove YOU'RE not the traitor!?"
- [The two Keyblade wielders ready their Keyblades again.]
- Chirithy: "Hold on! We're all on the same side! Why are you fighting!?"
- Casual Blue Keyblade Wielder: "Mind your own business!"
- [Skuld comes running to the two Keyblade wielders.]
- Skuld: "Stop it!"
- Chirithy: "Skuld!"
- Casual Blue Keyblade Wielder: "Who are you? Which Union do YOU belong to?"
- Skuld: "It doesn't matter. Our only enemy is darkness. Our Keyblades aren't meant to harm one another!"
- White Overalls Keyblade Wielder: "Anyone who tries to steal the light is no different than a monster of darkness!"
- Skuld: "What!?"
- [More Keyblade wielders approach.]
- Casual Blue Keyblade Wielder: "The war's already begun."
- Voice: "That's right."
- Everyone: "!"
- [Master Aced comes walking up to the group.]
- Master Aced: "We can only place trust in our own Unions; We cannot tell who has fallen into darkness with a mere glance. Why do you fight over Lux? Light is not proof of strength. Victory is proof of strength. And a strong Union is proof of justice."
- Skuld: "What?"
- Master Aced: "Do you disagree? Aren't you one of Ava's chosen wielders? One of the Dandelions? You, of all people, should be able to see that she's using her special Union to demonstrate her power."
- Skuld: "..."
- [The Player walks up to Master Aced.]
- The Player: "I don't belong to the Dandelions."
- Master Aced: "Which Union do you belong to?"
- The Player: "[Union]."
- Master Aced: "Stand ready."
- The Player: "!"
After quest
- Master Aced: "You're not worthy of the Keyblade."
- Voice: "That's enough, Aced."
- Master Aced: "Ira."
- Master Ira: "You bring harm to a Keyblade wielder and call yourself a Master?"
- Master Aced: "Hmph! It was merely a test."
- Master Ira: "Was it? Your hostility is why I'm here."
- Master Aced: "The war is coming. Invi, Gula, Ava, and even you, Ira— your Unions are all scrambling to gather more Lux than any other. Look around you. The strife has already begun, and you four have done nothing but fuel the flame."
- Master Ira: "And you elect to resolve this with brute force?"
- Master Aced: "Ultimately, the strong determine the world's future. While others gather Lux, I will recruit a legion. Backed by a powerful organization, a single leader can maintain the world's balance. The four of you will be banished, and I will lead the Unions in your stead."
- Master Ira: "You're a fool to think you have that kind of power, Aced. You overestimate yourself."
- Master Aced: "Then let's settle this on the battlefield!"
- [A Lane Between opens, and Master Aced leaves through it. The other Keyblade wielders disperse, leaving Master Ira, Skuld, and Template:PLayer.]
- Skuld: "Master Ira."
- [Master Ira turns to face Skuld.]
- Skuld: "The battlefield? What's about to happen?"
- Master Ira: "What fate intended."
- Skuld: "So Master Ava WAS telling the truth."
- Master Ira: "Yes. The war is inevitable."
- Skuld: "But... She said there would be no winners. So why fight?"
- Master Ira: "To make certain...there are no winners."
- [Master Ira turns away.]
- Master Ira: "Prepare yourselves."
- [A Lane Between opens, and Master Aced leaves through it. The Player falls back on the ground.]
- Skuld: "The Player!"
- [Scene cuts to dream of The Player standing in the Keyblade Graveyard.]
- Player: "Is this...?"
- [Pan to a shadowed group of figures to one side. Pan to a similar group on the other side. Cut to zoomed out view of both groups at opposite sides of the crossroads, with The Player standing in the center.]
- Player: "Who...?"
- Player: "What's going on?"
- [Scene darkens to black.]
- Player: "!"
- [Cuts to The Player standing alone in the Keyblade Graveyard. More Keyblade appear to be in the ground. A light begins shining down from above, over The Player.]
- Player: "Is that...?"
- [Scene darkens to black.]
- Voice: "Should I be worried?"
- Second Voice: "It was pretty rough."
- [Scene is revealed to be The Player asleep in their bed. Chirithy stands on the windowsill, while Skuld sits in a chair at the bedside.]
- Chirithy: "Thanks for being here, Skuld."
- [Skuld shakes her head.]
- Skuld: "You don't need to thank me. I just can't believe how bad things have gotten. Everywhere I go, people are arguing with each other."
- Chirithy: "I know..."
- Skuld: "Even the Masters— Well, we all saw what happened."
- Chirithy: "They used to work together, but now... I don't know how or why, but somehow, things changed."
- Skuld: "Then I suppose there really is no escaping the war."
- Player: "Did you..."
- Chirithy: "Oh!"
- [Skuld stands up.]
- Skuld: "You're awake! What a relief."
- Player: "Did you find Ephemer?"
- [Skuld pauses.]
- Skuld: "Not yet, but I know he's somewhere carrying out Master Ava's wishes. As for me, I'm trying to convince people not to take part in the battle to come."
- Skuld: "But most of them don't even believe a war is coming. What's more... ...Master Ava's absence is causing the Dandelions to lose their focus."
- Player: "Where is she?"
- [Skuld and Chirithy are silent.]
- Chirithy: "No one's seen her around lately. Maybe Master Gula knows something. The two were close."
- [The Player sits up in the bed.]
- Player: "The let's go talk to him."
- [Chirithy jumps down onto the bed.]
- Chirithy: "No, you need to rest!"
- [The Player slides off the bed.]
- Player: "We don't have time."
- [Chirithy jumps down to the floor.]
- Skuld: "...You're right."
- Chirithy: "But..."
- Player: "It's all right, Chirithy."
- [The Player pats Chirithy's head.]
