Pet System
The Pet System, is a gameplay mechanic introduced in Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ / Union χ Version 2.3.1. It allows the user to bring a pet, also called "Spirit", with them into a quest, and use it as a 6th Medal slot.
Mechanics
Players can name their pet and customize their appearance with special Avatar Parts.
Pets can be leveled up by equipping them with Medals. Medals have a certain number of points, and when reaching enough points, the pet will grow in rank, increasing the multiplier on the Medal slot, as well as learning "Tricks". Medals that are equipped unto the pet are not deleted and can be changed at any time. Medals can be equipped unto the pet even if they are already equipped in a Keyblade.
Having a pet gives the player access to a 6th Medal slot. This slot doesn't have an attribute associated with it, and the multiplier increases by raising the pet's rank.

Medal Points
The amount of points a Medal is worth is determined by its Special Attack Bonus Level and whether it has any traits.

Tricks
Tricks are special abilities the pet can use in certain conditions. Pets learn a new Trick when their rank increases.
